Dr. Streicher obtained her
Bachelors degree
from the
University of Cincinnati
in 1991, and both her
Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology
from
Virginia Commonwealth University
, in 1994 and 1996, respectively. She completed her pre-doctoral
internship at the University of Florida
Health Science Center in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology in 1996. She completed a two-year
post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine
in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics in 1998. She holds professional membership with the following organizations: American Psychological Association, American Psychological Association Division 40 (Clinical Neuropsychology), and Children & Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD).
Dr. Streicher’s
professional career for over 25 years has spanned clinical, administrative, research, and faculty positions
within her field, which adds to the depth and breath of her professional expertise. More specifically, she currently provides administrative and direct clinical services within the private practice she founded in 2014 (
MindWorks Pediatric Neuropsychology
in Charlottesville, Virginia). Until 2015, Dr. Streicher served as the
Director of Behavioral Health Services for Central Virginia Health Services
,
Inc,
which is Virginia’s oldest and largest federally-qualified community health center (FQHC) and consists of numerous primary care sites across Virginia serving over 40,000 patients. For 17 years, Dr. Streicher worked
at Central Virginia Community Health Center in Buckingham County Virginia (the parent site for CVHS), where she developed their integrated behavioral health - primary care program for CVHS, Inc.
Throughout her career, she has provided
close collaboration and consultation with and training to multidisciplinary healthcare providers. She developed state-wide clinical practice guidelines for behavioral interventions for obesity for community health centers in Virginia when she served on the Medical Management Committee for the Community Care Network of Virginia (CCNV). She also developed multidisciplinary practice guidelines for assessing and treating ADHD within primary care settings and provided training on ADHD to clinical psychology doctoral students and primary care medical providers across the state.
In addition to working in outpatient primary care, inpatient medical, and inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, Dr. Streicher also has
extensive experience working with school systems
. She has worked with both public and private schools in the Central Virginia region for the past 20+ years, providing collaboration with and consultation to teachers, guidance counselors, school psychologists, special education staff and administrators, as well as advocacy services to parents for students. For several years during this time, Dr. Streicher developed and ran a behavioral health satellite clinic for Central Virginia Community Health Center in Buckingham County Public Schools serving the primary, elementary, middle school, and high schools.

in the Department of Psychology, and the
University of Virginia
Curry Programs in Clinical and School Psychology. Dr. Streicher has provided clinical supervision and training to advanced clinical psychology doctoral students and post-doctoral residents, as well as clinical training for medical students, residents, and fellows from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She has also taught coursework in clinical neuropsychology for advanced clinical psychology doctoral students. Dr. Streicher has lectured widely to doctoral and medical students, healthcare professionals, and families on topics including ADHD, ADHD medication management, neuropsychological testing, obesity, and coping with chronic medical illnesses.
